Burnaby Family Life

- Counselling and Pregnancy Outreach over the phone.

- Pre & Post Natal outreach and education through phone, email, and Zoom. Contact spolson@burnabyfamilylife.org for more information.
- Outreach to families from Family Drop ins over phone. 

- Virtual Mother Goose Groups Creating art boxes (for children 0-8years) to distribute to families in need: art n craft activities that are age appropriate and encourage basic science, art and language learning through play.
- Farsi Nobody’s Perfect and Facilitator: Online sessions for families (contact Sangeeta Bhonsale:
sbhonsale@burnabyfamilylife.org).

- Virtual Guest Speaker Series: Expert advice for parents/caregivers to deal with the fears, anxieties and concerns created by the COVID 19 situation (details for all will be posted on their social media channels as well as sent through BIAC e-newsletter by next week – contact Sangeeta Bhonsale: sbhonsale@burnabyfamilylife.org).

Burnaby Neighbourhood House
Services currently provided:
- Phone check ins.
- Grocery shopping and other essentials for families who are isolated and can’t get out but can afford to pay.
- Food security for low income families – delivery of donated food bags to families who are isolated; grocery food cards (dependent on donations) for families who can still get out to shop.
- Support with connecting to any other needs that are identified.
- Virtual programming, will include – groups; children’s activities; parenting resources – connections to partners who are doing programming.
- Literacy support for filling out forms online (call South House to set up an online appointment).
- Practical support for applying for EI/economic/rent issues (call to make an online appointment). (2020/04/07)

YMCA / Child Care Resource & Referral CCRR
Services currently provided: Acting as central coordinator in BC for essential workers needing childcare for 0-5 year olds. For children 5-12, essential services workers are to contact child’s school, or, if needing coverage for shift work (ie non school hours) CCRR will try to help.
