Agencies Providing Services to People with Developmental Disabilities


Non-profit organization that provides innovative services to children, youth and adults with disabilities
and their families in Metro Vancouver.
Services Currently Provided: Still Creek Centre and Artists Helping Artists (AHA) are closed. Providing
drop-in support for people who use their services including dropping off activities for people to do,
groceries, going for walks in the neighbourhood and connecting virtually by video calls. Art Caravan is
delivering kits of art supplies and activities to the homes of people connected to AHA or who are
interested. Also posting instructional videos for art projects on social media. Outreach services still
running to help vulnerable people who are connected to BACI. (04/01/20)

Co Make Do:
A collaboration between Kudoz, Meraki, Real Talk, BACI, PosAbilities, InWithForward and Kinsight to
create a platform for social connection to combat COVID-19 social isolation. Every week, they offer a
range of experiences to connect neurodiverse folks with self, community, and the wider world. These
experiences will take place online, using YouTube, Facebook Live, Zoom and over the phone, for those
without Internet access. They’ll offer tech support for those new to digital platforms. All of the
experiences are designed to be doable and safe, and honour social distancing. (04/01/20)

Developmental Disabilities Association:
Developmental Disabilities Association is a community living agency that provides over 50 community-
based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in
Vancouver and Richmond. They also provide an employment program in Burnaby.
Services Currently Provided: The employment program is still running and has moved to virtual service.

Disability Alliance BC:
Disability Alliance BC’s mission is to support people, with all disabilities, to live with dignity,
independence and as equal and full participants in the community.
Services Currently Provided: DABC’s direct services are now being offered remotely including advocacy
access, RDSP access, tax aid and the disability law clinic. Appointments can be booked by email or
phone, but during this time email may be more efficient. (04/08/20)

Family Support Institute BC:
The Family Support Institute of BC (FSI) is a provincial not for profit society committed to supporting
families who have a family member with a disability.
Services Currently Provided: Fully functional. Engaging via telephone, email, text or online video
meetings, Families can access a volunteer Resource Parent or connect to group online video call.

Kudoz is an experience platform connecting people with and without disabilities to splendid things to
do, together.
Services Currently Provided: In person meetings and Reflection Cafes are cancelled. Kudoz is posting
virtual Facebook event experiences 3 times per week, offering weekly coaching videos followed by
online gatherings and having weekly online social lunches. (04/07/20)

Real Talk:
A sexual health initiative aimed at people with cognitive disabilities and their supporters.
Services Currently Provided: In person meetings have been cancelled. Now offering virtual meetings
